Vinnie's Overhaul

When I first bought Vinnie in 2004, she was in pretty bad shape. A poor restoration work and age were apparent: Rust, rot, scratched paint and a messy interior were all there. A thorough renovation was necessary. About a year later, in 2005, I started: For two years Vinnie was in renovation, fixing the body, engine and suspension. Yaron Wohl, the owner of Israel's best looking Fiat 500, did the mechanical work, Tino assisted with renovation of some crucial parts. Thank you both!

This is how it all began...

Vinnie's overhaul wasn't simple, and took nearly two years, from November 2004, till October 2006. During the restoration, Vinnie was overhauled mechanically and cosmetically. This is how she looked before. It may not show in the photos, but she suffered from rust, bad repairs in the past and a flawed mechanical state, limiting both performance and reliability.

This is how the restoration began, with the great help of Yossi Ben-Shaprut from "Lital" garage. Vinnie was swiftly disassembled, leaving only the seats (which were later also restored) and the steering wheel - to date probably the only untouched part after the restoration.

From the garage, Vinnie was sent to "Auto Pach", the repair shop, where she was treated by the Rabinovich family, who took good care of her, and performed the cosmetic restoration from start to finish.
